A BURNTISLAND woman won a prize of a lifetime when performers from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival put on an exclusive show for her - in her living room!
Susan Thompson from Cromwell Road in Burntisland entered the ‘Front Room Fringe’ competition on radio station Forth One’s website, and was amazed when she was chosen as the winner.
“I couldn’t believe it,” said Susan, who works as a childminder.
“I laughed from the moment I found out until they left!”
Three acts currently performing at the festival descended on Susan’s house - comedian Patrick Monaghan, Australian all-male burlesque troupe Briefs and the comedy music act, Axis Of Awesome.
“They were all brilliant,” Susan said. “Briefs were incredibly entertaining with feathers, hula hoops and all sorts of acrobatics.
“There was a little problem with Axis Of Awesome as they had to tone down their act a little bit.
‘‘ There were children there!”
The event was hosted by Forth One’s Mark Martin and was broadcast live on their website. Susan said: “Apparently there was a problem as you could only get the sound and not the pictures.
‘‘But it’s all been sorted and on it’s on the website now as well as on You Tube.”
Susan says it was an occasion that she’ll never forget.
“It was amazing!,” she said. “I couldn’t believe there were over 30 people in my house!
“The whole thing lasted for about an hour and it was just hysterical.
“It was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen!”
