Charitable and outgoing staff at Specsavers Leven hosted Pink Wednesday, to support and fundraise for Breast Cancer Awareness Month recently.

The High Street store’s appeal raised £60 on the day, with a generous donation from store director Adrian McCann boosting the total raised to £110.

As part of the fundraiser, staff at the local opticians each made a donation to Breast Cancer Care in order to wear their favourite fuchsia outfits for the day.

Staff such as Robert Scott, pictured right, got into the spirit and was delighted to be able to spread the
word of the charity when customers asked him why he was looking so ‘pretty in pink’.

Staff also sold home baked pink cakes, held a tombola with only pink prizes, and hosted a competition for customers to guess the number of pink sweets in the jar.

“It was great to see staff and customers really get behind our Pink Wednesday fundraiser,” Adrian told the Mail.

“I would like to express a big thank-you to all of our generous customers who helped us raise this sum.”

“The staff’s impressive efforts brought a flurry of fun to the store.”
