A woman from Lower Largo has seen her dream become a reality after a college course helped her to start up her own business.

Caroline Graham (39), a mother of two, left school with no qualifications but has always been interested in art.

So, in an attempt to make a change, she enrolled on an ‘Introduction to Creative Arts’ course at the Fife College campus in Leven.

She subsequently passed an NC and HNC course, before tackling a business course which resulted in her setting up her own business, ‘East Coast Reflections’.

Caroline said: “I have always lived by the sea and as a child, I used to spend hours beachcombing.

“After a little bit of market research, I found there was a great market for my product, creating gifts and home ware, all handmade from locally sourced driftwood and beach glass from east coast beaches.”

As well as attending craft fayres and focusing on seasonal products for Christmas and Valentine’s Day, Caroline is now looking to expand her business and plans to enrol on a self-employed course to help her to better market her products.
