Two of the Kingdom’s finest breweries are helping Aldi kick off summer by showcasing their craft beers in the retailer’s annual summer beer festival.
The festival, which has been running for the past two years, is set to be the largest selection of micro brewed beers available to any retailer.
Taking place across Scotland, the festival is showcasing some of the country’s best pale ales, including The 19th Brew from Eden Brewery in St Andrews and Oatmeal Stout from St Andrews Brewery.
Available at Aldi for £1.49, The 19th Brew is a refreshingly delicious and drinkable well balanced golden beer, which has a hint of citrus and slightly hoppy character.
Oatmeal Stout is made with five different varieties of malt plus oatmeal flakes which result in a complexity of flavours including strong coffee and chocolate. It is available for £1.99.
Expected to be worth more than £200,000 to participating breweries, the festival will build on previous success which generated substantial sales for small Scottish breweries and raised the profile of the industry as a whole.

Aldi’s Scottish Beer Festival starts on 29 May and will take place across all of Aldi’s 53 Scottish stores for five weeks (or until stocks last).
