131mph biker speed stuns Fife police

A biker clocked at driving at 131mph on the A911 Markinch bypass has left Fife police “stunned

The speeding biker was to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal the alleged speeding offence on the A911 Markinch bypass. Fife Safety Camera Partnership manager, Andy Jones said: “During a routine deployment our mobile camera unit, using the Commander system, detected a biker travelling at 131mph - more than double the speed restriction for the road. I am stunned that at the same time as road casualty statistics show that 17% of fatal and serious crashes in Fife during 2005-09 involved motorcyclists we are still detecting bikers who chose to ride at such an excessive speed.”
