Fife Council has taken action to clear cars which appeared to have been dumped at Letham Glen car park, after complaints from residents.
The local authority has contacted the owners of all but one car which had been left in the car park – apparently for weeks or even months at a time – and asked them to move the vehicles to allow visitors to the local greenspace the chance to park in the dedicated free car park.
A local resident, who did not wish to be named, said she was aware of a number of cars left at the car park for long periods of time while she was walking her dog every day.
She said: “It is a real shame as the Glen is beautiful and why should visitors on a busy day maybe have trouble parking their cars?”
John Haskell, Levenmouth area team manager for parks, streets and open spaces, said: “We contacted the Council’s specialist team that deals with abandoned vehicles and asked it to investigate.
“Currently, there’s only one vehicle left in the car park and a notice of investigation is attached to the windscreen.
“Staff covering Letham Glen will keep an eye on the situation and report any future vehicles that appear abandoned.
“You can report abandoned vehicles too, by phoning 03451 55 00 22 or completing the online form at www.fifedirect.org.uk/abandonedvehicles.”
