...and the Yoscar goes to
Lousie Noble, Youth Worker of the Year 2012 at the Fife YOSCARS.
The 16th annual Fife’s YOSCARS Award Ceremony took place at the Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline and was attended by over 300 young people aged between 13-18.
The YOSCARS (Youth Work Oscars) is a special event organised every two years by Fife Council’s Youth Work Services to celebrate and recognise the important and exciting contributions that young people make to their local communities, as well as to the wider Fife community.
One of the night’s biggest winners was Louise Noble (27) from Kirkcaldy who was picked as the Youth Worker of The Year for her voluntary work and for working with youth groups at the Toll Centre in Burntisland.
Louise, who has worked with young people for nine years, said she was “completely overwhelmed.’’
She said: “I got really emotional when I told I had been nominated.
‘‘When they read out my name at the ceremony I couldn’t believe it. I almost fell up the stairs!”
The winners were nominated by their peers, youth work teams or support workers for their projects. YOSCAR nominations were assessed by a panel before the winners were announced on the night.
Fife Council leader Alex Rowley said: “It’s events like these that encourage, motivate and support staff and the young people to be effective contributors, confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens.”
