Anstruther’s summer Harbour Festival is shaping up to be a fun-filled weekend.
Activities, entertainment and events are contributing to a busy diary for August 15-17. Daily activity schedules will update festivalgoers and maps will be available in local shops to help first-time visitors to the town.
There’s a strong music and dance flavour to the August 15 opening. The next day features a range of stalls, raffle opportunities, a puppet show at Anstruther Church, a rock-pool guddle and a display by the Gatty Marine Centre, plus a fundraising ‘cook-out’ by the RNLI, with the pier providing an ideal viewing spot for the boats anchored in the harbour.
There will also be a coastal rowing regatta by the St Ayles Rowing Club, with lifeboat and inshore rescue boats on display.
Anstruther Sailing Club continues its traditional Muster by welcoming visiting boats and crews, having a Classic Boat Rally. The Scottish Fisheries Museum’s sailing drifter ‘Reaper’ will be open to visitors.
