Award for Adamson
Chief Inspector Jill Harper and Professor James McGoldrick at Cupar's Adamson Hospital.
CUPAR’S newly redeveloped Adamson Hospital has scooped a Fife Police ‘Secure by Design’ award - a first for NHS Fife.
The design team from J.M. Architects worked to the standards of Secured by Design requirements for medical facilities, which includes higher security windows and doors along with better security on entrance and exits to the building.
The national initiative ensures safety and security for properties, which implement the specifications at design, and implementation phases.
Stuart Ward, Fife Constabulary’s crime prevention design adviser, said: “We always welcome the opportunity to work with architects, developers and builders to ensure a higher level of security for properties and communities.”
Professor Jim McGoldrick, chairman of NHS Fife said: “Ensuring a building is safe and secure is a key aspect of the design process and one that we apply to buildings across the organisation.”
