Are you ready to party? That’s the question from East Fife supremo Lee Murray who has big ideas for a huge Hogmanay bash at Bayview Stadium.

The local football club owner is keen to gauge opinion from Levenmouth locals before putting any of his plans into action but, if it does go ahead, he promises a night to remember.

Lee would like to see a crowd of 3000 on the pitch and in the stands on the night, and has already been in talks with some famous faces about headlining the event.

“I’ve been talking to The View and Big Country about coming to play on the night, and also some local bands who would perform as well.

“But we don’t have any firm plans in place yet– I wanted to get a feel from the local community to see if they would actually want something like this first.”

Lee has been working with Cameron Barnes, a member of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, on ideas for the big bash, which could become one of the biggest hogmanay events in the whole of Fife if it does go ahead.

Not only will there be great music and entertainment on offer before the countdown to 2015 begins, there would be a bar on offer for revellers and of course, the obligatory fireworks to ring in the bells at midnight.

With just five months until the big night, Lee said he has already spoken to the local police, who have had no issues with the plan, and initial reactions from local Flood Inns staff have been very positive.

“I do think that it’s possible to put something like this on and I really think it would work,” said Lee.

“I just want to know that we’ll have the support there from the community, because there wouldn’t be any point if no-one wanted to go.”

Lee added that if it goes ahead, he hopes it would become an annual event at the Methil stadium.
