Blaze at Burnmill

Fire

Fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called on Friday afternoon to tackle this blaze at business premises in Leven.

The alarm was raised around 4.10pm after wheelie bins and commercial waste were discovered on fire outside Macdonald & Murdoch Ltd., fruit and vegetable growers, on the Burnmill industrial estate.

The flames spread quickly but everyone inside made their way out safely, as two fire units from Methil arrived at the scene.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus put out the flames and also used a fan to clear smoke which had drifted into the building from outside.

A police vehicle and an ambulance were also in attendance but a fire service spokesman said eveyone in the premises was accounted for safely and there were no injuries or any need for medical treatment. (Picture by Andrew Barclay, Glenrothes).
