Fife Police recovered a body from a popular St Andrews beach yesterday(Thursday) afternoon.

Officers were called to the East Sands at around 3.30pm after the body was spotted beside rocks at the southern end of the beach, beneath Kinkell Braes caravan park.

A police spokesman said today that the victim was a 45-year-old man from the Lanarskshire area and that there were no suspicious circumstances. Officers were assisted in recovering the man’s fully clothed body by members of the St Andrews Coastguard.
