Police have re-opened the main road into Kinghorn after an early evening incident involving a bus and pedestrians.

Two people were taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

The incident happened near Pettycur Bay Holiday Park around 5.45 p.m. resulting in the A921 Burntisland Road being closed in both directions while emergency services attended the scene.

Police said a boy and a young woman had just stepped left the bus and were crossing the road when they were involved in a collision with a Stagecoach double decker travelling going in the opposite direction.

The road was closed between the Inch View junction and the Greenmount Road South junction.

Police were also on hand to re-direct traffic.
