The Cosmos Community Centre’s annual sandcastle competition - taking place every Friday during the school summer holidays - is proving a fun day out for locals and holidaymakers.

For the second year running, the competition is being supported by St Andrews Hotel and Guest House Association and Cosmos chairman Larry Reed is seen receiving the cheque from Ray Pead, of the association, as volunteer Sue Boyle and Claire Brown, of the After School Club, look on with youngsters from the club.

Weather permitting, the competition starts at 11am on the West Sands - buckets and spades can be provided. Children receive juice and crips.
