Buckhaven venue hosts debut art exhibition

As a cornerstone to the very first Central Fife Open Studios, the Buckhaven Beehive building is hosting an exhibition displaying the creative expression of around 30 local artists.

The presentation, which is free, is in the building formerly known as the Free Gardeners Hall, in College Street, Buckhaven.

It began at the weekend and is open every afternoon from 1pm between now and August 26.

Led by a small and enthusiastic group of volunteers, Central Fife Open Studios was launched to give art enthusiasts a chance to visit artists in their workshops to view, buy or commission original artworks.

More information on individual artists and their locations is available from the website on http:// centralfifeopenstudios.moonfruit.com.

Blair Denwette (right), from the Beehive Project team, said: “The main aim of this project is to provide a platform for creative individuals and groups, who each have their story to tell and their own voice to be heard, using wide-ranging and diverse media.

“It is about recognising the existing cultures, arts and artists that are already out there in our community and hearing their individual stories, in whatever form that takes.”
