Businesses asked to sponsor a festive bulb

BUSINESSES are being urged to come forward and help with Leven’s traditional Christmas celebrations.

Due to the extreme weather last year, the Christmas banners placed around the town were damaged.

The cost to repair them came in at around £5000 with the cash donated by businesses and also from cash given by the common good fund.

However, the conventional tungsten bulbs which are used are now no longer available and a shift has to be made to a new low wattage environmentally friendly LED bulb.

Again this looks like it will cost organisers a lot of cash so a ‘sponsor a bulb’ scheme has been launched with those donating money having their name placed on a sponsor board.

Eddie Young, who is behind the project, is asking anybody who’d be interested in helping out with the project to get in touch with him at his Motorfits shop on Commercial Road.
