More information about the first planned production for the Byre theatre has been announced - and an appeal gone out for youth cast members.

Jack and the Beanstalk will play at the Byre from November 28, 2014, until January 3, 2015, in a fun-filled production written and directed by Gordon Barr who was responsible for the Byre’s hugely successful Snow White panto in 2012.

Jack and the Beanstalk whisk you away to a fairy tale kingdom where everything will be are larger than life. Side-splitting comedy, audience participation and songs aplenty are promised in what is expected to be a truly magical performance for the theatre’s grand re-opening.

The run will include a mixture of school performances, matinees and evening shows.

Auditions for 10-18-year-olds who want a chance to tread the boards will be on September 7 between 2 pm and 5.30 pm but aspiring actors should email Ashley Foster, the artistic director of the Byre Youth Theatre at ashley@byreyouththeatre.co.uk first.
