Cats abandoned at Methil bus stop
Star and Sparkle
THE Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after two cats were abandoned at a bus stop in Methil on Thursday afternoon.
The young adult female cats were found in a cat carrier on Wellesley Road. A bag with food, bowls and a litter tray had been left beside them.
They are now being cared for at its Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, where they have been named Star and Sparkle.
The centre’s Inspector Sarah Gregory said: “A man and woman were seen at the bus stop around the time the cats were found. We’re keen to trace them as they may hold further information.
“Star and Sparkle are in really good condition, so it seems they have been well cared for prior to being dumped.
“These girls will remain in our care until we can find them a new owner who will treat them with the care they deserve.”
Abandoning an animal is an offence and anyone found guilty of doing so can expect to be banned from keeping animals for a fixed period or life.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Scottish SPCA’s Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
