A street party at Silver Dykes, Cellardyke, has raised £3667 for the East Neuk Wheelchair Appeal and the PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) Association.

Stalls, games, music, face painting and a bouncy castle – which was a big hit with both the young and not-so-young – helped keep everyone entertained.

And everyone was well fed too, with over 200 fish suppers being dished up and over 100 burgers sevred from the barbecue.

Eleanor Bowman, one of the organisers, said: “It was a great community day and brought everyone together, and the weather was kind to us too.

“We’ve got to thank G. & J. Wilson, who kindly donated the fish for the suppers, the Wee Chippy for donating the oil and Anstruther Fish Bar for donating ice cream, as well as everyone who handed in raffle prizes and home baking.

“We hired a couple of big friers and did a roaring trade in fish suppers.”
