Charity drive

Members of the Glenrothes Golf Club ‘clubbed’ together and ‘swung’ into action at their charity fun day recently. The event raised over £1500 which will now got helping children with special needs in the Glenrothes area.

Phil Corletto, club manager and one of the organisers said the event had been a ‘huge success’ and thanked all those
who donated or dug deep into their pockets.

He added: “It was a phenomenal day with a number of live bands, a barbecue, raffles, karaoke contests and loads more stuff that all made it a big success.”

The fund raiser adds to a successful Charity Tri-Am competition the Glenrothes club held recently in which the entry fees, amounting to £340, were also donated to the nominated charity.

Audrey Morrison and Rosemary MacDonald from the Glenrothes Association for Children with Special Needs greatly received the proceeds and said: We can’t thank the club, its staff and all those who donated enough, it’s a fantastic effort and we are all very grateful.”
