Councillor calls foul
CUPAR councillor Margaret Kennedy has voiced concern over the significant increase in dog mess on the town’s pavements and in its parks.
Councillor Kennedy said: “I can’t understand why some dog owners do not recognise what effect they are causing through their behaviour.
“The frustrations associated with this issue are a constant in my mail box and I am sure that of other councillors.”
The rise in instances of dog fouling has been recognised by Fife Council, and some areas in the Cupar Ward are now being regularly patrolled by council officers.
“Indeed, in some instances the specific dog owner has already been noted and therefore being sought through surveillance.”
Councillor Kennedy added: “I am particularly concerned about areas including the riverside walk from Victoria Bridge out to Millgate and the Haugh Park
“Rural villages can be affected just as much all of which is soul-destroying to those members of the public who work hard to care for our environment.”
