One of the ‘biggest and baddest’ cycle stunt shows in the UK will take centre stage in Cupar tommorrow.
Mountain bike stunt team ‘The Clan’ will open Cupar Children’s Gala with their breathtaking Big Air Show just after noon.
The event begins at 11am with a parade of floats through the town from Fluthers car park. This year the procession will travel past the railway station, over South Bridge and into Crossgate to give businesses and shoppers the chance to see those taking part.
The convoy, lead by Cupar Pipe Band and an open-top double decker containing the new king, queen and attendants, will then travel up Bonnygate and into Balgarvie Road before entering the park.
After the king and queen - Dylan Watson and Claire Balsillie - are crowned, the action starts with the first of two stuning performances by The Clan which includes huge jumps, flips and other tricks.
Another highlight of the day will be appearances by the world’s number one football artist John Farnworth who will be dazzling audiences with his freestyle skills.
Other main arena attractions include displays by the Yvonne Gray school of dance plus a number of races including the dad’s race for the Derrick Duncan Cup.
The George Duncan Cup football tournament will take place on the astroturf pitch.
There will also be a range of funfair rides for children of all ages, plus 1000 free children’s lunch bags provided by the gala committee following a year of fundraising events.
Other food available includes a barbecue tent and a tea tent run by the local scouts.
Gala chairperson Ali Rankin said she hopes this year’s Gala will continue to be a fun-filled day for children - and an affordable one for their parents.
