Exhibition on century of childhood

Methil Heritage Centre

Methil Heritage Centre

Just started at Methil Heritage Centre is a colourful exhibition that promises fun for all the family.

‘A Century of Childhood’ is running until January.

Packed full of toys, games and photographs, it offers a fascinating insight into our changing attitudes to children and childhood.

It’s also a chance to enjoy looking at some of the things we played with in the past.

There are porcelain dolls from the 19th century, clockwork toys from the early 20th century and make-do-and mend toys from World War Two. Other visitors might have fond memories of the pogo stick, Cabbage Patch Dolls and the Rubik’s Cube.

Whatever your era, there’s something to intrigue. There are hands-on activities, such as colouring sheets, boardgames and even a giant Connect 4! Children’s workshops over the summer will offer the chance to take part in lots of fun art and crafts.
