TRAGIC: Abby Hucknall

THE families of the two women who died in the traffic accident in Kirkcaldy on Tuesday evening have spoken of their loss.

Abby Hucknall (18) and Jane MacDonald (37), both from Kirkcaldy, died when they were in collision with a dark coloured Land Rover at around 6.30 p.m. on the eastbound carriageway of the two-lane Dunnikier Way, near to the Asda superstore.

The male driver of the car was uninjured.

In a statement issued by the police, the family of Abby Hucknall said: “We are devastated by this tragic loss. She was a very bubbly, caring and beautiful girl, a much loved daughter, sister and grand daughter who will be sorely missed by all who knew her”.

The family of Jane MacDonald, who was the mother of Abby Hucknall’s boyfriend Joe, said: “Jane was a loving mother whose heart was with her children. Jane will be a sadly missed daughter, mother, sister, auntie and mother-in-law.”

It is believed Joe heard the collision and was with his mother when she died.

Following the accident, the road was closed overnight and re-opened around 9.00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Police are continuing their investigations into the incident.

Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Fife Police on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
