Festival organisers set outdoor agenda

A POPULAR Leven music festival looks set to return to the outdoors next year as it bids to become bigger and better.

Organisers of Agenda Rocks are currently scouting out a number of venues, including Letham Glen, Leven beach and Bayview Stadium.

Lee Murray, owner of the Flood Inns group which owns Agenda – the orginal organiser of the festival – confirmed the plan, adding he hoped a headline act could also be booked.

Mr Murray told the Mail: “We actually tried to do it up the Glen this year but we were let down. We definitely would like to do it there next year, or down the beach.

“We have also spoken to East Fife and they are quite comfortable with doing it at Bayview, which would let us do it bigger, though it would maybe take a wee bit more planning.

“We would like to keep going forward and try and get a headline act, to build the whole festival around, as I think we could have had another 10 bands this year, to be honest.”

Agenda Rocks was moved to Brannigan’s Hotel this year following a row over noise complaints, but around 250 people still turned up to see 10 bands perform throughout the day.

Mr Murray added he had no noise complaints from this time round and praised Mark Boyd and Keir Smith, whom he classed as the real organisers.

Of next year’s event, he added: “It would be good to do it outside just to get that festival summer feeling and it would be good to give the people of Leven something they could look forward to.”

Levenmouth continues to have a growing music festival scene.

Every year the Regent Cinema holds its Rock The Regent festival and GlenFest at Letham Glen also has a stage with live music throughout the day.

Added to that, this Sunday, T in the Car Park takes place at Buckhaven’s Railway Tavern.
