Fife business students got a unique insight into how the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is managed recently thanks to a visit from Neil McFarlane.
The seven students, who are studying BA (Hons) in Business Administration at Fife College, welcomed the opportunity to explore the areas of performance management and human resources and hear how these have developed within the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service recently.
Neil, who is a brigade manager, gave the students an interesting insight into how the fire service has managed change within the organisation and discussed the hurdles and challenges it faced.
Neil said: “I was delighted to be asked to come and speak to the Fife College business degree students.
“Most of us within our working careers will face change at some point and managing this successfully is key to any organisation’s success.”
Pamela Bennett, who organised the talk, said: “Neil was extremely inspiring and the students gained a great deal from his visit. It’s always good to hear real examples of good business practice and Neil also took time to answer the students’ questions.”
