AN extra investment of around £1m in Leven’s roads has been welcomed by an area councillor.

Councillor Alistair Hunter was reacting to a pledge of the cash, part of a Fife Council decision to provide an additional £9m of capital investment for road improvements over a five-year period.

Roads which have been identified for works, include the A915 Windygates Road, North Street and on the Promenade.

Cllr Hunter said: “When settling the council budget we felt that it was important that we added additional resources to our roads budget to help boost our ongoing carriageway programme.

“This financial year we will be able to bring forward £230k worth of new improvements to Leven on top of our existing commitments to the town.”
