The Fraser Gallery in South Street, St Andrews, recently hosted the schools’ competition organised by the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Charitable Trust in conjunction with Pizza Express.

Almost 100 entries were received from schools across St Andrews and the judges had a tough time reaching a decision as the level of entry was extremely high.

All the works entered into the competition were exhibited in the gallery across the weekend March 29-30 and a lot of very positive feedback was received.

The winners and runners up were:

Pani McDermott (Canongate Primary School) - Primary 5-7, winner; Ruth Wedderburn (St Leonards Junior School) - Primary 5-7, runner up.

Toby Bowes Lyon (St Leonards Junior School) - Primary 3-4, winner; Ella Gracie (Canongate Primary School) - Primary 3-4, runner up.

Hannah Cuthbert (Canongate Primary School) - Primary 1-2, winner; Jessica Hill (Canongate Primary School) - Primary 1-2, runner up.

Caitlin Major (Lawhead Primary School) - Primary 3-4, judges’ special mention.

The winners - both the individuals and the schools they represented - took home a range of prizes, including art supplies’ vouchers and Pizza Express vouchers. The Fraser Gallery has extended its congratulations to all those who took part.
