Grand-daughter to be Olympic mascot

Proud grandparents Jim and Maureen Drummond, of Hamilton Avenue, St Andrews, are celebrating the selection of their grand-daughter as a mascot at the forthcoming London Olympic Games.

Katherine Drummond (11), who resides in London, was nominated for the honour by staff at Vicarage Primary School, East Ham, in recognition of her good behaviour and achievements.

Katherine, who is the youngest of a family of three of former St Andrean James Drummond (47) and wife, Denise, will act as the mascot for the Paraguayan Olympic team.
