Groom takes bride's name

THE WORDS "I do" came with an interesting twist for Glenrothes couple John and Stacy Johnstone when they tied the knot this summer.

Following marriage tradition, they merged identities as a couple but it's not Stacy who now has a maiden name – that belongs to her husband.

Originally John Jamieson, the 38-year-old went against common practice to take his wife's name because he thought it would be the easiest way to unite the whole family.

The couple, who got married on August 31, have one daughter together, eight month-old Nevaeh Johnstone but Stacy also has three other children with the same surname, James (12), Rebecca (9), and five year-old Jordan.
