Hunt for Cupar sex attacker
The crime scene at Duffus park, Cupar.
Police in Cupar have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a 27-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in the town’s Duffus Park last night (Sunday).
Detectives are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was in the area between 7pm and 10pm.
It is understood the incident took place on the track leading from Balgarvie Road to Elmwood College and Cupar sports centre and the area is currently cordoned off.
Detective Inspector Graham Fenton, who is leading the enquiry, said: “Duffus Park is a popular area for people walking their dogs and is regularly frequented by young drivers who use the car park as a meeting point.
“Such instances in the local area are extremely rare, however, in response there will be increased police presence in the vicinity. I would urge anyone who was in the area on Sunday night to contact the Police by calling 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
