TIRELESS Tayport resident Isabel McGuire is continuing her efforts for charity this month.

Isabel (49) braved the Broughty Ferry Dook on New Year’s Day to raise money for Mercy Ships and this Sunday she’ll be taking part in a sponsored walk along part of the Fife Coastal Path.

That’s in addition to a coffee morning and raffle she held in Leuchars yesterday (Thursday) and a second-hand book sale in Newport earlier this year.

So far Isabel (right) has raised more than £1130 for Mercy Ships, which provides medical care and humanitarian aid to some of the world’s poorest people.

On Sunday, Isabel will be walking a 15-mile stretch of the coastal path between Newburgh and Wormit.

She will be accompanied by her niece, Amy McClemont, and Newport-based artist Dawn Brooks.

Another friend, Alyson Macpherson, is taking part in the West Highland Way Run on June 23 to raise money for Isabel’s cause.

Isabel said: “I am truly overwhelmed by the support I’m receiving all the time and I am so excited to celebrate my 50th year raising money for such a worthwhile charity in a memorable manner!”
