BUCKHAVEN’S Jade Richards returned to our televisions on Saturday night as her second attempt at success on ‘The X Factor’ was screened.

This time shown on ITV2’s ‘The Xtra Factor’ a slimmer and healthier--looking Jade (22) was shown getting four ‘yesses’, from the judges, after singing ‘Love Is A Losing Game’ by Amy Winehouse.

Gary Barlow described the texture of her voice as “absolutely insane” and said she was “now a major contender to win this competition.”

Tulisa Contostavlos, who shrieked when she appeared on stage, said: “That vocal doesn’t even need to be judged or commented on; it speaks for itself.”

Guest judge Anastacia said: “You have an amazing voice – I mean I have hairs on my body that are standing up that I didn’t know existed.”

And Louis Walsh added: “I loved you this year, I loved you last year – you are looking great.”

Speaking to host Caroline Flack, Jade said she had been left ‘gutted’ and ‘devastated’ last year.

She added: “After that I was like, right, I just have to get on with it, get started again, and go out gigging. I started going to the gym and lost quite a bit of weight.

“I think when I got the ‘no’ it has made me more determined to come back. It puts some fire into you.”

However despite the polished performance, according to those in attendance, Jade’s audition, which was recorded in Glasgow back in June, didn’t run quite as smoothly as it appeared.

They revealed ‘Love Is A Losing Game’ was in fact the second song she sung in front of the famous panel after she initially opened with ‘Too Close’ by Alex Clare.

Jade has already filmed her boot camp scenes, and was joined in that stage of the competition by fellow Levenmouth singer Colin Malcolm, a member of Levenmouth band Healthy Minds Collapse.
