SHOPPERS at Kirkcaldy’s main shopping centre will soon be welcomed by new modern signage which will cost over £90,000 to put in place.
The signage at the Mercat Centre will include replacing all of the current external and internal signage with a new, modern logo.
Centre owners, LaSalle Investment Management, has applied to Fife Council for planning permission for the new external signs, including the main High Street entrance.
Stephen Roberts, centre manager, said the works will take place from January 27.
He added: “The new signage is part of a plan to invest in and improve the Mercat Centre for the community and the people who live and work here.
‘‘It will also include new directional signage and store directories to help shoppers find their way around the centre more easily.”
“All of the works will take place out of hours so there will be no disruption to shoppers or retailers.”
The Mercat has announced plans to replace the existing toilets with brand new facilities.
Added Mr Roberts added: “We are in the process of finalising plans. Work is due to take place later this year.’’
