Largo Bay singled out as tops for plant life

Largo Bay

Largo Bay

A CHARITY dedicated to protecting wild plants and their habitats has chosen Largo as the site for its first ever beach event.

Plantlife Scotland is inviting members of the public to join one of the country’s leading phycologists – a specialist in seaweed – on an accompanied walk along the beach on Saturday, August 18.

Professor Martin Wilkinson, of Heriot-Watt University, will be giving his expert insight to the seaweeds and the diversity of marine life along this stretch of shore.

The walk is free but spaces are limited. For more information call 01786 478509 or e-mail scotland@plantlife.org.uk
