Leaning tower at Energy Park

The leaning pylon at Methil Docks.

WORKERS at the Fife Energy Park were left with a tricky problem last week when a large pylon started to lean.

It’s understood the tall structure, thought to be around 100-150 metres high, was in the process of being removed from its position on the Methil site when a support rope, which had been attached near the top, snapped.

The pylon, part of the lighting system at the site, tilted over at an angle of around 15 degrees.

No one from the Kirkcaldy-based contractor was available for comment when contacted by the Mail.
