A lollipop woman has been taken to hospital after being in collision with a car outside a Kirkcaldy school this morning (Thursday).
The woman was transferred to Victoria Hospital after the incident near Capshard Primary at 8.35 a.m.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said a silver Mazda being driven by a 69-year-old man was involved in the collision. She said the 40-year-old lollipop lady was taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries. Officers are currently investigating the circumstances.
It is believed pupils on their way to Kirkcaldy High School witnessed the scene in the minutes following the incident.
Louise Playford, Fife Council school estate service manager, said: “We’re aware of the incident that involved our school crossing patrol officer outside Capshard Primary School this morning and we’d like to wish her a speedy recovery.
“In the meantime we are currently looking into a temporary replacement school crossing patrol officer.”
She added: “Parents will be advised if we’re unable to find a temporary replacement.”
