Man killed after Kirkcaldy road crash

A MAN seriously injured in a car crash on the outskirts of Kirkcaldy has died in hospital.

The 55-year old died in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after being airlifted from the scene outside the town.

The accident happened around 7.00 a.m. on Friday when a Ford Focus and Ford Transit van were involved in a collision on the B9157 Invertiel Road near to the Puddledub turn-off.

Police say one man was taken by air ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. Two others sustained minor injuries in the crash and were taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

The Orrock Quarry road was closed for some tiem as officers carried out investigations.

The man will not be named until relatives have been informed.
