A road accident in north east Fife at the weekend has claimed the life of a young motorcylist.
Jamie Wallace, formerly of East Wemyss, died on Friday after the tragic incident on the A915 Upper Largo to Largoward road, near Wester Newburn Farm.
Mr Wallace’s Honda motorcycle and a Volkswagen Golf car were involved in a collision around 9.05 p.m.
Mr Wallace, who was 29, was a former pupil of Buckhaven High School. He stayed in Glenrothes and worked at Jack’s Fish ‘N’ Chip shop in Methil, run by his family.
Over 200 messages of condolence have been posted on the shop’s Facebook page since the accident.
Road policing officers have issued an appeal for witnesses to the crash – they are particularly keen to trace the driver of a small white car or van, which stopped at the scene but left before police arrived.
Sergeant Andy Mather said: “We are still appealing for witnesses to come forward as we continue to investigate this collision. Several witnesses have already contacted police; however, we are keen to trace the driver of the vehicle which stopped at the scene but left prior to my officers attending. They may hold vital evidence which can assist with the enquiry.
