New broadband funding
Mr Campbell
A £5 million national fund could help bring next generation broadband to communities in Fife.
The Community Broadband Scotland initiative will act as a one-stop-shop for rural community groups, providing them with information and advice to find solutions for broadband delivery.
From October, a telephone helpline and website delivering advice and support will be made available and a dedicated team of staff will work to provide hands on assistance.
Communities in Fife will be eligible to apply for seed funding under the initiative to enable them to obtain greater access to the net.
MSP Roderick Campbell said: “I hope that a proportion of this funding can benefit rural North East Fife.
“After all, there are parts of the East Neuk and the Howe where broadband capacity is particularly underdeveloped.”
