Test transmissions will soon begin from Kirkcaldy’s new community radio station K107.

Broadcasting on 107fm and online, the community broadcasters are currently testing transmission and studio equipment from their Kirk Wynd base.

John Murray, chairman, said: “We had hoped to be broadcasting before Christmas but we had some technical issues with the transmitter, and getting an engineer at this time of year is impossible.

“The studio equipment is now complete and tests can begin early in the new year on FM and from the new website to be announced soon. Meantime the Twitter feed @k107radio and the K107 Facebook page are gaining in strength helped by the posts from Raith Rovers and Fife Flyers fans.”

The station, which has charitable status, will broadcast 24 hours a day with music, interviews, chat and community information. It will be recruiting volunteers for many different roles and anyone interested can get more information by contacting studio@k107.co.uk.
