Parent raps St Andrews taxi firm
A ST ANDREWS taxi firm has lost its council contract to provide a service taking children from Strathkinness to Lawhead Nursery after only 24 days - following a catalogue of complaints from parents.
Strathkinness resident Ky Thomasson-Kay, whose three-year-old daughter, Kirsten, was one of the youngsters involved, told the Citizen that operator Town and Country Taxis had been "rude, argumentative, aggressive, late and just non-compliant."
Mr Thomasson-Kay said this week: ''The contract was not being carried out as we need it to be.
"They treated this job as any other taxi job and it's not. We are not a last-minute job to be handed out. Child seats need to be collected, the duty parents need to be collected - and sometimes, siblings too.
''The job cannot be performed in the shortest time possible. We need a driver who knows the job, not someone turning up when they feel like it.
