Plea to take advantage of heating assistance
Rod Campbell, SNP MSP for North East Fife
RESIDENTS across the area are being urged to prepare for the cold months ahead by making use of the Scottish Government’s home energy hotline.
The call, made by Rod Campbell MSP, comes after a new survey found that almost 80 per cent of Scots are concerned about the cost of their energy bills this winter.
And, while many Scots use, or would be interested in using, loft (45 per cent) or wall (32 per cent) insulation to help make their homes warmer, only 29 per cent of people said they have claimed the free home insulation they are eligible for.
Mr Campbell told the Mail: “One call is all it takes for people to find out what they are eligible for.
“Advisors can provide details of free offers, discounts and other support available to help everyone have a warmer, affordable and greener home this winter.”
The Scottish Government’s home energy Scotland hotline, on 0800 512 012, is free to call.
