Glenrothes councillors have welcomed an annual report praising service levels in a number of care homes within the region.
The report, detailing the results of a range of Care Inspectorate inspections at eight adult homes and two catering for children, deemed all homes either good or very good.
South Parks Care Home and Day Care Centre scored very well in each category.
Among the homes in question were West Park Care Home, Leslie, Preston House, Finavon Court, Abbotsford Care homes at Blair Avenue and Mina Crecent, Balfarg Care Centre, Woodside Court and Lomond Court nursing homes.
The results were based on a series of 23 care standards broadly grouped into four key themes; quality of care and support, environment and information, staffing and management, and were measured using both announced and unannounced inspection visits.
Councillor Altany Craik, Glenrothes area committee chairman, told the Gazette: “I am delighted with such positive results from our care homes in Glenrothes.
“The Care Inspectorate set high standards and it’s reassuring to know we are meeting these in Glenrothes.
“The high scores are a credit to the service and staff who help and support people when they need it most.”
“Care inspection reports play an important role in providing better information to people who use care services, their families and their carers.
“They also help people make better informed choices about care services.”
Gavin Yates, spokesman for community health and wellbeing said: “The information provided by the Care Inspectorate gives a useful indication of how well social work is delivering a range of services to the people of Fife. “It shows where services are delivering well and where intervention and improvements are required.”
