A photographic record of Royal visits to the Scottish Parliament since 1999 was presented to The Queen last week by the Scottish Parliament’s Presiding Officer, Mid Fife MSP Tricia Marwick.

The record, produced by the National Archives of Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Parliament, marks The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and captures every visit The Queen has made to the Scottish Parliament.

Spanning the opening ceremonies of each session of Parliament, the Riding ceremonies, the Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2002 and the 10th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament, the gift captures the Parliament’s relationship with The Queen over more than a decade.

Mrs Marwick said: “The Queen’s personal affection for Scotland is well known and she has visited our Parliament many times.

“I am delighted to present Her Majesty with this record on behalf of the Scottish Parliament to commemorate the historic occasion of the Diamond Jubilee.”
