The children’s charity, Clic Sargent, can expect a cash windfall thanks to the success of the now annual Teddy Bear’s picnic held at Craigtoun Country Park on the outskirts of St Andrews.

The action-packed programme was organised by Fife Council and included colourful stalls, games, a teddy bear grand parade, races for all ages, a fancy dress competition, pony rides and children’s fun. There was also live music and a magic show, while visitors were ablt to take advantage of the country park’s own attractions.

Clic Sargent is committed to raising funds to help children with cancer and leukaemia, and their families. The charity plays a crucial role in helping people to cope, and to bring as much normality as possible to their lives during the period of treatment.

A spokesman said: ‘‘We provide Homes from Home for families to stay close to the hospital, outreach nurses to provide care and treatment both on the ward and at home.”

All funds raised at the Teddy Bears picnic will go directly to these services in Scotland.
