Regal flavour to grand day out in New Gilston

Top summer festivities and celebrations will be filling the diary this weekend in New Gilston and Woodside, as the annual Gala Day takes place for 2104.

The event is this Saturday, with main events taking place at New Gilston and Woodside Village Hall, and also the Village Common.

Highlights include the fancy dress parade, led by a pipe band, with Gala King Jake Langlands, of Largoward Primary School, and Kirkton of Largo Primary School pupil Libby Smith as Gala Queen.

Attractions at the Common include a further set by the pipe band, a dog show, craft show, magic show and refreshments tent, with home baking and ices.

There will also be a tombola and raffle, sports, a barbecue, bouncy castle, face painting, prize winning games, and more.
