Residents are invited to ‘have their say’

An initiative to improve the state of local play parks in the Finglassie, Stenton and Petteuchar areas of Glenrothes is gathering momentum.

Peter Scobie, chair of the community council is urging residents to attend the next committee meeting at 7.30pm on November, 9, at the Jubilee Centre, Stenton and have their say on the future of the play parks in the area.

The meeting is to be dedicated solely to the improvement of facilities and follows the completion of a council investigation into the current state of park facilities carried out by Fife Council’s Parks development Officer, Alan Bisset.

Along with Mr Bisset, a number of local councillors are also expected to attend.

Mr Scobie told the Gazette: “We are inviting local residents to have their say in the future improvement plans and to hopefully get involved in something that will benefit the area greatly.

“We have also approached a number of schools and also youth groups including the Scouts and Brownies to get involved and help with fund raising and promoting the initiative of improving our local play parks.”
