A charity fun day at Glenrothes Snooker Club potted a pocket full of cash to go towards helping children with special needs in Glenrothes.

Phil Corletto, club manager and one of the organisers said the event had been a huge success and thanked all those donated or dug deep into their pockets at the event, which raised over £1,500 on the day.

He added: “It was a phenominal day with a barbecue, raffles, karaoke contests and loads more stuff that all made it a big success.”

Amongst the live entertainment was Flynt and the Higginson Sisters, whilst Anthony Kelly who raised the roof, and £200 as part of a sing-a-thon that delighted all those in attendance.

Audrey Morrison and Rosemary MacDonald from the Glenrothes Association for Children with Special Needs greatly received the proceeds and said: “We can’t the club, its staff and all those who donated, it was a fantastic effort.”
