Scottish tenor Martin Aelred will be performing at St Monans Parish Church on August 30.

St Monans Parish Church is set to welcome a celebrated Scottish tenor for a much anticipated concert at the end of this month.

Martin Aelred from Falkirk approached session clerk Nora Gardner to tell her how much he loved the seaside village and the church and asked if he could perform a concert for the locals.

The result is a performance to be held on Saturday, August 30 at 7.00 pm.

In the first half, Martin will be signing music from the great Italian tenors,
such as Enrico Caruso, Lucianno Pavarotti and Mario Lanza.

In the second half, he is set to wow the audience with extracts from ‘Concerto of Aranjuez’ by Rodrigo, during which he will also play the guitar.

Martin is a highly accomplished singer, having trained with the Scottish Opera after being inspired by Puccini.

Not only has he sung across the length and breadth of the country, he has also performed at a peace conference at the United Nations in New York, for His Royal Highness Prince Charles and the Dalai Lama.

The concert is free to attend but the church is asking for a small donation of around £5.
